13 Prepper Uses for Vinegar

12. Pickle Foods

V12

The ability to preserve foods in a situation where electricity and refrigeration are unreliable is golden.

With vinegar, you can preserve foods such as eggs and salmon to last for up to 2 months. You can pickle foods without canning by using any type of vinegar and non-hardened water.

If you want to store your pickled food via canning, though, it is imperative to select a vinegar with 5% or more acetic acid.

Pure sea salt or salt that is labeled for pickling or canning is also a necessity for either process.
