A barking dog could deter bad guys, but it can also give away your location. With this in mind, you may wish to begin working on noise discipline so that your pet’s vocalizations are easier to keep under control during an emergency.
Many dogs are easily trained not to bark when they hear the sound of a clicker, which will be much less noticeable than barking.
