3. Prepare the Plywood for Your Windows

It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to protect your home from a massive storm or looters because either of these scenarios can easily lead to broken windows.

However, if society has crumbled, looters (or worse) will be able to take advantage of breaking a window by climbing into your house.

Help prevent this by having plywood precut in the correct sizes to cover all of your windows. Please note: if you’re dealing with an apocalyptic situation instead of a storm, you may wish to put the plywood up on the inside to remain more discreet.

It’s also wise to have screws already in the wood and to keep a charged drill next to your plywood pile.
