Once inside a shelter, remove all clothing that was directly exposed to the blast as it will contain radioactive dust. Simply removing the outer layer of clothing can reduce radioactive materials by 90%.

In addition, blow your nose gently to remove any radioactive materials. Wipe you face, eyelashes and eyelids with a clean wet cloth.

If possible take a shower using lost of soap to wash away fallout, but do not scrub or scratch your skin. Wash you hair thoroughly without conditioner.
