3. Tampons

We’ve spoken before about the many ways that a tampon can save your life, but it is important to reiterate that these feminine products should be in everyone’s bug out bag, regardless of gender.

You can use the cotton within a tampon to cover a wound or to start a fire, and the wrapper can be turned into a makeshift fishing lure. In essence, a tampon is a very overdeveloped gauze pad and those with the know-how can get a lot of mileage out of this single item.

You may not choose to put an entire box of tampons into your bag, but make sure you have at least one or two on hand.
