Emergency Glass Breaker
Most people would never think of this item, but in an emergency evacuation this could really save your life… or at least a trip to the ER.
Tempered glass is very hard to break safely. Heck, it’s surprisingly difficult to break period. Just watch the nearby video for a demonstration of how ineffective several “name brand” glass breaker tools truly are.
If you’re trapped in a car or you need to rescue someone who is trapped, and time is of the essence, you’re going to need a substantial tool. The same goes if you need to break a window in a commercial building.
Specialized glass breakers are your best bet here, especially those equipped with a spring-loaded, center punch-style mechanism. If it attaches to your keyring, all the better.
Lots of survival tools are equipped with a “glass breaker,” but as you can see in the video above, using them effectively may takes serious effort and result in injuries.
