4. Hang Damp Sheets Over Your Windows
At night, the temperature might drop down enough to bring some cooler air into your house. To get the most out of any breezes, you can dampen a sheet and hang it over your window (be sure to move the blackout curtains out of the way first). The evaporation of the water will have a cooling effect on your room. If possible, use a light colored sheet to receive the best results. Keep in mind that you do not want to leave a damp towel in place for several days because if it doesn’t dry completely, it could develop mildew.
