Removing a Tick
If a tick becomes attached to your skin, you will need to remove it by using a pair of fine-tipped tweezers. Never grab a tick with your bare hands, and do not use items such as hot matches or petroleum jelly in an attempt to make the tick stop eating. Instead, grab the tick with tweezers as close to your skin as possible and pull it upward with a steady motion. Be sure not to jerk the tweezers, and avoid crushing, puncturing or squeezing the tick. After the tick has been removed, you will need to thoroughly cleanse the area with soap and water.
