Step Four: Tack the Canvas to the Frame and Mount the Top Half of the Awning
Aluminum tacks can help you tack the canvas in place without leading to issues with future rusting. If you are unable to find aluminum tacks or need to keep the price of the project as inexpensive as possible, you can resort to using carpet tacks. However, beware that these will eventually rust. Regardless of which type of tacks you choose, use them to attach the canvas to the frame.
After the tacks are in place as indicated in the image, use the ¾” conduit clamps and screws to attach the top portion of the awning above your window. At this point, the awning should hang straight down. The clamps will attach to the upper T PVC pieces on each corner. You can paint the clamps to make them match your house.
