Step Five: Add Support Braces
You will want to put a support brace in place on each side of the awning. This will help hold it in place during strong weather, and it will also give your awning the arc that is needed to actually provide the interior of your home with some much-needed shade. You will use conduit clamps again to hold the support braces in place.
Two 45 degree elbows should give you a good angle if you want to still be able to look out of the window. You can also choose an alternate degree angle if you desire a different final result. It is up to you if you want to glue the support brace pieces in place or simply dry lock them together.
