Widespread Pandemic
The last pandemic to hit the U.S. that led to massive casualties was the Hong Kong Flu of 1968 to 1969 that claimed the lives of 34,000 Americans and 750,000 people worldwide.
One of the most notable pandemics throughout history was the black plague that resulted in 25 million European deaths during the 14th century.
If another massive flu hits, you can protect yourself by staying home as much as possible, washing your hands regularly, etc. But what if a pandemic hits that’s more along the lines of the black plague?
The best way to avoid a communicable disease is to steer clear of other humans. Therefore, if a wide scale issue hits your area, you should bug out, at least temporarily. This would also be a good time to use an underground bunker. As always, make sure it’s fortified with food, water, entertainment and other necessary supplies.
