1. Pinto Beans
There is virtually no difference between the bagged and canned version of these beans, and choosing to stock up on cans will usually save you some room.
All beans have high nutritional value due to the amount of protein that they provide, but pinto beans just might be the most perfect blend of nutrients available from this category of food. Each serving will provide you with a healthy mixture of protein, potassium, vitamin C, vitamin B6, magnesium, iron and even a hint of calcium.
These beans can last for up to 10 years in proper storage, which makes them very worthy of occupying some of your limited storage space. Kidney beans are a good alternative for those who do not like pinto beans.
