#1 BEST Survival Skill for 2016

Look, survival skills aren’t limited to spearfishing, eating grub worms, or building fires by rubbing sticks together…

While this is the type of “survival skill” that gets attention in the mainstream media, the fact of the matter is that wilderness survival skills will be almost completely irrelevant in a true SHTF crisis.

You already know that the keys to human survival are: Food, water, and shelter. So why is it that so many forces seem to be working to make us more dependent on forces outside of our reach to get these things. To keep us in the dark about what is in our food? How it’s made?

In fact, if an alien were to land in America today, they might wonder why the government is trying to stop individuals from producing their own food. They would certainly be shocked by the greed and foul play on display with America’s monopolistic food conglomerates.

Riot policeThrough their patented seeds, pesticide laced crops, and attempts to force all independent farmers out of business. Heck, their lobbyists have even tried to ban gardening (SB-510), in a move that would “preclude the public’s right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes,” according to Dr. Shiv Chopra.

There’s little doubt about it, you right to “food independence” is under attack.

That’s why the number 1 survival skill to master is one that guarantees you a supply of food and water, without leaving the safety of your shelter.

Stockpiling is Important (But Horribly Inefficient)

Stockpiling food is a great insurance policy… for a little while. Yes, your family will have a safe supply of food in the event that an emergency strikes your area.

The major problem with the food stockpile idea it that it does nothing to benefit you or your family until a calamity interrupts or destroys your way of life. You’ve probably heard the jokes about how excited “preppers” are about the apocalypse… like it’s a backyard BBQ or something.

Well, the skill set we’re recommending you master will actually help you pull of more backyard barbecues, before the apocalypse.

The “Food Independence Machine”

Look, we all know that grocery stores only have a few days supply on hand. In the event of an emergency, even a fairly ordinary hurricane scare or power outage, there are massive runs on water, canned food, etc.

And all the people who actually did get some supplies had to wait in long lines and deal with somewhat riot-like circumstances.

Instead of panicking at any sign of trouble, you could simple go to your own private survival garden and take stock of your situation. Don’t have a backyard?

Guess what? You don’t need one, because this isn’t a garden. It’s an automated micro farm.

The agri-science behind this farm is actually called “aquaponics,” (a combination of aquaculture and hydroponics) but the name of the system is Clean Food Source. If you want one of these systems, and you don’t want to go get a degree from an agricultural college, then Clean Food Source is probably you best bet.

Their systems consist of basically a fish tank and a plant tank. They can both be fairly small, like the size of a 55-gallon barrel or smaller. Many of these systems fit on a table top.

Here’s how it works, the fruits, greens, and vegetables in your hydroponic tank get the nutrients they need from the fish waste. No chemical fertilizers necessary. The plants clean the water, which is then pumped back into the fish tank. As the fish (usually tilapia, catfish, or even trout) grow large enough and begin to crowd the tank, you have fresh fish for dinner!

Once you get your system up and running, it takes only a few minutes of management a day. According to Clean Food Source, the total maintenance time each week is around 30 minutes.

Of course, most people will spend a lot more time with their system than what’s necessary. For most, it becomes a bit of a hobby or even an obsession.

Minimize Your Grocery Bill/Maximize Your Health

monsantoWe all know that eating the “best” food available at the grocery store costs more than the genetically modified “frankenfoods.” What’s worse, as soon as budgets get tight, we adjust by switching to the less healthy foods, loaded with pesticides, high fructose corn syrup, and basically sawdust.

It’s no wonder that obesity, Type II diabetes, and other food-based diseases are running rampant in America today.

The dirty little secret is that many of even the most expensive “organic” foods on sale at the most trusted grocery chains still contain GMOs. Even Whole Foods can’t guarantee their foods are free from GMOs. Their GMO labeling program won’t begin until 2018!

There is truly just 1 way to make sure your food is truly safe to eat and that’s to become food independent. The good news is that this will also save you a ton of money on groceries while eating fresher, tastier food than you can buy at the store.

According to Clean Food Source, some of it’s customers have been able to slash their food bills at the grocery store to as little as $10 a week.  Obviously, they still buy shampoo and paper towels at the grocery store.
