6. Alpine Butterfly Bend

The Alpine Butterfly Bend is a derivative of the Alpine Butterfly Loop. These interlocking overhand knots are a good way to join two ropes together that are approximately the same size. One of the main perks of this particular knot is that they can be used for heavy loading and yet are still easily untied afterwards with nothing more than your fingers.
