Mini Scissors

The scissors and other sharp implements in your first aid kit might be too long to bring on board, but the TSA does allow passengers to travel with sewing scissors as long as the blades are no longer than four inches.

Fiskars has an all metal version that is TSA-approved, and this will be much more durable if you end up using the scissors during an emergency.

Scissors are one of the most overlooked survival items, probably because we associate them with school or office supplies. When you think about it, they serve a lot more uses than cutting construction paper.

A good pair of scissors will help you in first aid situations, mending clothing, building emergency shelters, cooking, and of course cutting open things with more control than a knife will offer.
