3. Soapy Water Defeats Aphids
Aphids can be a major pain for any gardener, especially because some species actually inject toxins into the leaves of every plant they encounter. In fact, aphids could quickly become your worst nightmare as they are well-known to cause widespread crop destruction.
Fortunately, you can tackle them with the simple combination of soap and water. Simply make a mixture of soapy water, cut off the leaves that have been bitten by the aphids and spray the plants with your homemade pesticide.
Your plants will survive the soaking, but the aphids will not. Keep in mind that you may need to retreat your plants a few times until all of the aphids die off or move on.
Soapy water recipe: Use 1 to 2 teaspoons of liquid soap for every quart of water.
