Powdery mildew is a common plant disease that can cause issues for your garden.

At the first sign of this or any other fungal problem, you can make a DIY mixture that will help save your crops.

First, be sure to remove any leaves that show heavy signs of infection. Then mix 3 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 gallon of water and 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid. Put everything in a spray bottle and apply to the affected leaves. Treat the applicable plants every week until the mildew or fungus clears up.
