10. Under Your Couch/Recliner
Remove the fabric on the underside of your couch or recliner, and there will be ample room to store a larger weapon like a shotgun or rifle. If your furniture is leather, you will not need to remove anything to make this trick work. Placing an ottoman or a coffee table in front of your hiding spot will make it safer. However, of course, this is not a good choice for stashing a gun in plain sight if there are any children in your home.
Some of these hiding spots are more conventional than others, but all of them should make it easier to defend your home if a criminal makes the unwise decision to break in. Ultimately, the best way to stay safe is to keep your gun on you or readily accessible at all times. Make sure that you do not tell anyone who lives outside your home where your weapons are hiding. Although it might be exciting to brag about the hidden compartment that you have built, you never know when the wrong person might be listening.
