Being able to identify them on sight could help you avoid serious health complications. You should also take steps to prevent these pests from getting on your skin or clothing in the first place.

Not all ticks carry diseases, and in fact, the majority of them are harmless. Unfortunately, you cannot take any chances because there are numerous well-known and minor diseases that ticks can transmit to humans and animals. The most notable diseases are:

  • Lyme Disease
  • Colorado Tick Fever
  • Tularemia
  • Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
  • Powassan Virus

If you have been bitten by a diseased tick, you will most likely begin to exhibit several symptoms. Of course, this means that it is too late to avoid health complications, especially if you are unable to receive medical assistance.

  • Blisters
  • Breathing Difficulties
