8. Strong Wind Shift

A heavy rain storm happened, followed by a quick stop that was extremely quiet and calm…

Suddenly, the wind picks back up again, and it’s strong enough to begin blowing things around.

This is a very bad sign. Strong wind shifts after a brief silence are often the calling card of a tornado on the move. This literally means the wind directions are changing rapidly, swirling if you will…

When these conditions happen, move immediately to your storm shelter.

There are numerous signs that a tornado could be forming, and they all require you to pay attention. Survivalists know that that should check weather reports and radar daily, but you also need to verify this information by looking at real world conditions. Although there are tornado sirens and other emergency measures in place to protect us, they don’t always work. You must remain alert when bad weather is near. Ultimately, the only thing that can keep you alive is putting a tornado plan in place and following it when the moment comes.
