1. Camp Stove
Surprisingly enough, the common camp stove can be stored in your carry-on, even those that require a flammable fuel to operate. However, there are caveats. First and foremost, there must be zero fuel present in your stove, nor will TSA allow you to carry on a stove that reeks of flammable vapors. Some fuel canisters may be allowed in checked luggage, but we recommend shipping those to your destination if you know you’ll need it.
Even better, carry a stove that doesn’t require liquid fuel. Several excellent camp stoves only require twigs or fuel pellets to operate. Some, like the BioLite, actually use your flames to operate a device charging mini-generator.
