4. Rocket Stove

You have to be able to cook food, and a rocket stove (or one of the numerous similar styles) is a great way to ensure that a power outage won’t leave you eating everything cold.

This particular mini stove needs nothing more than twigs and small sticks to keep it powered up, which is ideal unless you happen to live somewhere without any trees nearby (and if you do, it might be time to consider moving).

To go along with your rocket stove, make sure that you stash a durable cast iron pot, some dish soap and a scouring pad. Paper towels can also be very helpful for keeping your pot clean.
