2. Heavy Rain and Hail That Suddenly Stops
Did a huge rain and hail storm go through your area and then suddenly stop? Does everything sound almost eerily quiet?
Instead of taking the time to check out any damage, you should be running to your designated tornado shelter. Although the sudden disappearance of fierce rain and wind may not be the lead up to a tornado, it’s often a sign that a funnel cloud is near.
Don’t get caught admiring the wrath of the first part of the storm when you should be taking cover from the potential sequel, which is virtually guaranteed to be far worse.
