7. A Wall Cloud
The formation of a wall cloud is easy to spot because they are so thick and low-lying that it feels like there’s literally a wall of clouds between you and the rest of the sky.
As the wall cloud gets closer to the ground, your tornado risk goes up. Keep an eye on the base of the clouds to help you spot any swirling activity.
As always, it’s better to take shelter for a while without needing to than to stay outside until a tornado has already appeared. Therefore, use common sense when a wall cloud begins to move in a downward direction.
