1. Pay Attention to Pauses
When you ask someone a question, the length of the pause they take before they answer can speak volumes about how truthful they are being.
This comes with a big caveat, though, because people do tend to pause longer when they are trying to remember older details or if they feel highly emotional about the topic in question.
However, if you were to ask someone “have you ever killed anyone” or “are you a cannibal,” a truthful answer should be given almost immediately.
Any delays in saying “no” to these questions should be taken as a possible “yes.”
