When you ask someone a yes or no question, it is common for them to provide a verbal and physical answer.

For example, the question of “have you ever eaten another person,” should be followed by an emphatic “no,” and they may also shake their head to further get their point across.

On the other hand, if they are lying to you, it is quite possible that they will nod their heads yes while saying no.

Pay close attention to any disagreements between verbal and non-verbal responses as they may help you spot a liar in action.
