4. Place the leftover butter into a bowl. Work out the air pockets and buttermilk from the butter with a spatula or large spoon.

5. Separate the butter and transfer into another bowl.

Remove

6. Pour in cold water with the butter to rinse it off.

7. Pour out the water and continue to work the butter until the water runs clean. Add water as needed.

8. Salt or season to taste.

9. Wrap butter in plastic wrap or place it in a container. Keep buttermilk and butter refrigerated.
