The previously mentioned Taurus 738 TCP .380 may retail for more than the Hi-Point C9, but user reviews actually favor the less expensive C9 pistol.
This American made handgun can be found for well under $200, yes it’s true, and it features a nice ergonomic grip, a high impact polymer frame and a +P rating to handle powerful loads. It isn’t lightweight by any means.
All in all, this is a nice little piece for the price and it’s got a good reputation for refusing to jam or misfire. For a bargain basement price of $160 at Academy, this Hi-Point 9mm is one of the best values you’re going to find. Period.
