Know Your Emotions
Many people believe that secret agents and counterintelligence officers have no emotions. If you’ve watch Homeland, you probably already suspect that this is completely false.
Instead of suppressing all human emotions like a robot, it’s important to be more aware of your own emotions, triggers, and motivations. Identifying your own emotions is the key to controlling them, rather than having them control you.
We’ve all seen adults throw temper tantrums as if they were toddlers. You may not fall on the floor kicking and screaming, but most all of us do get extremely distracted and misdirected when we’re angry.

Rather than focusing on the anger and flying int0 a blind rage, channel that anger into an activity that’s productive. This is just one example, of course, but you can see how powerful it is to arrest an emotional response and redirect it.
As you learn to identify and redirect your own emotions, your ability to recognize the emotions of other will also develop. Observer the body language of others in public for fun, see if they’re behavior reflects the emotions you’re experiencing. Are they frustrated, exhausted, frantic?
You’ll be surprised at how well you can predict what others will do next based on their body language. You know their emotions, which are controlling their thoughts, the same emotions you’re feeling and choosing to control. It all begins with becoming aware of your own emotions.
