According to the University of Maine, the presence of sweat on a human can make bees angry.

Bees are also more likely to sting you if there are any strong smells coming from your body, including perfume, cologne, deodorant or scented shampoo. Therefore, you need to take a shower and wear fresh clothing that was washed with unscented detergent before you approach a bee hive.
