What Exactly is Pool Shock?
Although it is more commonly known as pool shock, you may also find this product labeled as calcium hypochlorite. This inorganic compound is used in many areas worldwide to sanitize and disinfect pool and drinking water.
Calcium hypochlorite is non-flammable, which makes it safe for storage, and it has a distinct chlorine smell. The odds are high that the water you drink daily has been treated with this substance.
