Things You’ll Need:

1. A large metal bowl — chill before use.

2. An electric mixer.

3. A blender (optional).

4. Strainer.

5. A small bowl

6. Spatula or large kitchen spoon

7. Heavy cream, without any added sugar, at a temp of about 60˚F.

Also, see the easy way to separate cream from milk at the end of this article. Keep in mind that it takes quite a bit of cream to make a small amount of butter. One gallon of heavy cream yields about three pounds of butter.
