The Redhawk and Super Redhawk are classic double-action hunting revolvers from a classic revolver maker. Most of Ruger’s revolvers are for cowboy-action shooting and open-sights plinking fun, but the Redhawk lineup caters to the tack-driving target shooter and/or hunter.
In fact, the 7.5-inch “Hunter Model” comes with Ruger’s trademark scope mounts along the top rail. If you’re shopping for a deer hunting revolver first and foremost, this model is your best bet right out of the box.
Chambered in .44 Magnum, like the Smith & Wesson, this revolver also classifies as a two-hander. Heck, you can even find a bipod for some of these handguns, which you may want to look into.
