BioLite CampStove
Cooking gear is a must for any survivalist or backpacker, but the term “CampStove” really doesn’t do this gadget justice. You see, it’s actually a self-contained thermoelectric generator (i.e. a “charging station”), in addition to being a very handy backcountry cooking apparatus.
The BioLite CampStove generates a very efficient fire for boiling water and preparing meals along the trail, no fuel canisters required. This device creates some very concentrated heat, and it also outputs electricity to charge your devices.
Here’s how it works: Excess heat from the burn chamber is converted into usable electricity via a thermoelectric generator. This electricity powers a fan and sends the surplus energy to a USB charging port to recharge your phone, tablet, or GPS. All the while, the internal fan forces air back into the burn chamber, making your fire burn hotter and more efficiently.
In short, this is an impressive gadget that can power your devices in the backcountry AND replace your old backpacking stove. The CampStove does all that, while eliminating the need for those annoying fuel canisters too.
