Whether you get lost deep in the woods or society completely crumbles, it’s going to be imperative to find shelter right away. What is it about shocking snake videos? For some reason, we just can’t get enough of them. The more unbelievable, terrifying, or flat out disgusting, the more these videos seem to draw us in. In some strange way, these videos appeal to our sense of survival. Maybe it’s the need to test ourselves in a way… Maybe we need to know just how we might react if we were to actually come face to face with a massive anaconda? Where can you find the world’s largest cottonmouth? Or what kind of snake is big, bright blue and eats full-grown rattlesnakes for breakfast!? […]
Beer and the great outdoors go together like well… beer and football? Beer and BBQ? Beer and Christmas get-togethers? Suffice it to say, an ice cold beverage pairs nicely with lots of occasions, but only one of these presents a nearly constant hazard to your full beer-drinking enjoyment. RELATED: How to Open a Beer With a Dollar Bill [VIDEO] When drinking outdoors, a beer drinker will often find that he’s set down his beer to do something or other and, when finished tending to that somethin’ or other, he’s lost track of that sweet, tasty beer. As they say, an […]
Tragically, many Americans never get the opportunity to learn to shoot and that is just plain wrong. Introducing new shooters to the wonderful world of marksmanship is of paramount importance for any firearms enthusiast. The future sanctity of the 2nd Amendment (among other things) depends on it. BUT… it’s also extremely important that each new shooter is introduced to shooting sports the right way, safely. Many of the folks in the video below aren’t first time shooters and have no excuse but to plead stupidity. The others, many of them women, simply didn’t receive the proper coaching necessary to make their […]
Think snakes are dumb? Think again… The title of the YouTube video is literally “Dumb Snake,” which has got to be one of the most grossly inaccurate titles we’ve come across in a long time. This snake sits in the reeds, spots the man offering him a free fish, and swims on over nonchalantly for a free lunch. For a human, this behavior might be seen as “dumb,” but for a snake? Look at what these hunters stumbled onto while planting a duck hole last season. Cottonmouths (AKA water moccasins) typically grow to between 30 and 48 inches, occasionally as long as 74 inches long, according to the Smithsonian National Zoo. How long do you think “Cottonmouthzilla” is judging from the video? Water moccasins are highly venomous and are known to stand their ground when they feel threatened. This specimen, however, appears to be so thick and massive that it’s hard for the creature to even get around. RELATED: Will a Bite from This Snake Kill You? [QUIZ] Little is known about the typical life […]
Cross-species friendships are pretty uncommon in the animal kingdom, particularly when neither best friend is human AND one of the two is a completely undomesticated whitetail deer! Even if you hunt deer, or even if you use dogs to hunt deer, you have to admit that this video is ridiculously heartwarming. RELATED: Hilarious Hunting Prank: You’ll Never Believe This [VIDEO] This dog and deer combo became a YouTube sensation when this video was first aired. Since then, a followup video (below) proves that their friendship has stood the test of time.
The longest recorded sniper kill was shot from a distance of 2,706 yards by Corporal Craig Harrison in November 2009, but this feat was accomplished by an active soldier with modern technology on his side. Meanwhile, when 86-year-old veteran Ted Gundy served as a sniper during WWII, records were not even being kept yet in order to determine how far of a range these expert marksman had. Gundy saw action during WWII at the Battle of the Bulge and many other campaigns, so it is no wonder that he was recently honored by the United States Army Markmanship Unit with […]
